Cloud mumbled and shoved the warm weight off his hips, only to have it slide back on top of him again with an extra few twine-and-grips for good measure. Cloud cracked open an eye and closed it again. "Loz," he mumbled.
He tried to be quiet, but by the time he managed to untangle himself from Loz's tentacles, all three of his younger brothers were awake. "Go back to sleep," he told them as they blinked heavy-lidded green eyes at him. "I'm just going to check on biggest-brother."
"Then come back," Loz insisted petulantly, but he was leaning back into a warm nest of blankets and his brothers' arms and tentacles, and it was hard to resist curling up between them and closing his eyes. Cloud murmured affectionate assent and patted the nearest tentacles, letting them coil around his hand a moment before pulling away.
They'd been lucky to find an empty house some distance away from Kalm - the tentacles Cloud's brothers wore were impossible to disguise, so staying in a town, to say nothing of an inn, was right out. Cloud climbed the rickety stairs slowly, cautiously, and poked his head up through the hatch into the attic.
He needn't have worried. In the silver light of just-dawn, Sephiroth was stretched out across several items of furniture - bed, two chairs, and a dresser, since the bed alone couldn't accomodate him - sound asleep. Cloud smiled and moved an armful of tentacles to sit in the chair, gently draping them back over his lap. Sephiroth himself did not stir, but his tentacles curled gently around Cloud's legs to keep him right there.
His promise to the younger ones notwithstanding, Cloud figured he'd be there a while. He smiled and patted the tentacles gently, feeling the flex of hard muscle beneath soft, pale skin. The General had been mute and half-wild as a shy chocobo since they'd pulled him out of the Nibelheim mansion's basement, but his strength had never left him, and that meant there was still hope that he would be whole.
"Don't worry, boss," Cloud murmured. "We'll be in Midgar soon. All our questions will be answered there."
Re: Birthdayfic. ^_^
oh man, I miss my IJ icon collection over here! Here I've got to pick between the attack-of-glomp icon or the mama's-a-space-virus icon and they're both equally appropriate! XDDDD I think the attack-of-glomp icon wins on account of how yeah, it's tentacles, but it's so darn CUTE. And Cloud is never going to escape from the huggins again, not with four of them wandering around with all those extra grabbing and groping options equipped. :3 Thank you!
Re: Birthdayfic. ^_^
Eeee, attack-of-glomp! Yeah, Cloud is never going to be let go of, ever again. Lucky him. ^_^
I'm glad you liked. Happy birthday! :3
