One of those months / 'nother recipe
GRAWR.

(Don't ask. Boring RL stuff that continues to conspire against ficwriting time.)

In other news, Winry's Thirty-Second Automail Cleaner Hot Chocolate Fondue is good for whatever ails you.

Being overly busy sucks. And the summer reading program is in full swing, for us. Yay, children are reading? Anyways, I am thrilled to have an actual refrigerator. *HUGS* hope things are better for you.

Yay for actual refrigerators too! (Glad you finally have one! meep.)

On this end, it's turned into the annual August work-overload-from-hell spree and it's only June, so I'm dreading the rest of the summer and August itself like a mad burning thing, plus we've been being rained on 4 days a week for the past two months solid and it's about to kick up to 5 days a week and I'm terrified the seals are going to break and my basement's going to flood again and there's literally NOTHING I can do but stare at the ceiling and swear and try-and-fail to sleep as the storms go through, which is pretty darn tired-and-cranky-making when you wake up at thunder and it's been storming more than half the time for months. @_@

But work-life should be better in September and storm-life should be better right around when work-life's hitting its annual hell-peak? XD

Riiiiiiiight. Better. Nod, nod. Actually I find myself unable to complain all THAT convincingly since I'm not alone any longer. <3 It's nice to have someone at home who loves you, you know?

And also, so deep into the fandom for Showtime's The Tudors it's not even funny. Katherine of Aragon has always been my second-favorite historical person. (Hatshepsut was the first, and the (real) Caterina Sforza, third, fyi...) And Maria Doyle Kennedy is PRECISELY my Katherine, in every way. Also, I'm thrilled to want to cosplay someone I actually somewhat resemble for once. Her Kennedyness is in mai new icon (points up) ANYWAYS...have returned to previous rantings about how it's unfair to blame Katherine for not producing Henry the jerkfase a son, as she only has X chromosones to donate. Thank you, official British historical website for joining in the mudslinging campaign. Also, isn't it a crying shame she couldn't have married Thomas More instead? I will be moving off the historical soapbox now, as they are both well beyond any benefit of my ranting.

SO. How are you..?

...Eventually? heh. As noted above, June is ordinarily just the ramping-up for the work-hell phase of the year. This year I've got August levels of crazy already, and it only scales UP from June. @________@ Plus background thunderstorm-lack-of-sleep-and-doubling-of-stress is just doing a number on me in general. I am REALLY looking forward to September... but I really wanted some downtime and fictime BEFORE that!

I've been telling myself for the past two months "okay just get this done and you can write fic next weekend," but then there's always some new crisis next weekend, and I want to write fic dagnabbit! I want some kind of kickbackandchill space before it all goes insane, except that it's looking like this year it's too late already to beat that timing, and auugh.

*whimpers and hugs you* That sucks! ;_;

...would fic make you feel better? If you'd like, give me a prompt and I'll write you a little something to try and cheer you up! =D

Fic always makes me squee - but I'm too brainfried to have any prompt-generating mojo left! T_T (Ask Jou how rare THAT is. I think I inflicted at least three of her current epics on her...)

Hmmmm... might any of my old unclaimed prompts from past areyougames spark anything for you? Here's a smattering of 'em... feel free to pick one or to kick me for a different assortment?

- Crossover: Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy VIII, Genesis and Squall: resemblances - If it's not too egotistical of me, he's quite a pretty one, isn't he? / since when have you ever been worried about egotism?

- Crossover: Final Fantasy VII/Kingdom Hearts, Zack and Leon, Cloud optional: Gentleness - the world won't end if you smile, I promise... and if it does I want a refund on my emo-apocalypse insurance policy.

- Crossover: Final Fantasy VII/Kingdom Hearts, Zack and Sora (possibly through the eyes of a shell-shocked Riku/Cloud/Leon/Seph/other handy non-extrovert): Barhopping - Could a world really explode when faced with the pressure of that much irrepressible optimism in a small confined space?

- Final Fantasy VII, Turks: Pizza delivery AU - Tseng wasn't sure he wanted to know how many traffic laws Reno broke in the pursuit of the completely ridiculous 'fastest turnaround/most drops per hour' listings they kept on the scoreboard in the back office.

- Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Tifa, Loz: dominance/authority - he was just an overgrown puppy who hadn't ever been properly housebroken.

- Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Angeal and/or Genesis / Sephiroth: dancing-slave AU - The albino they'd captured had been well trained, certainly, but no one would mistake the creature for well tamed; he wondered whether the slave would respond better to gentleness, or to a firm hand on the leash.

- Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Angeal and Zack: heroic gestures - being the good guy came with really lousy medical 'benefits', but the look in the boy's eyes was compensation enough.

- Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, Zack and Sephiroth or Angeal: Vacation - Zack made a habit of inventing at least two improbably obscure Gongagan religious holidays a month, but this time he seemed determined to bring his superior officer along for the ride.

- Kingdom Hearts, Sephiroth and Riku: resemblances - it was hard to tell whether the other reminded him more of himself, or of what he'd once wished he could be.

....I'd generated at least 30 of them at one point (don't look at me like that, it was defending my honor! I had to prove I could do it! er. yeah...) so if none of those ping you I've got lots of others in the pile if you want 'em?

*goes to go flop ded snooooooore*

got nothing to do with ur post but i figure this is the best place to send u a nudge of sorts. i recently crossed paths with a link to Side Effects and i remembered i used to read that, so i checked to see if you updated it, which you haven't. so it would be appreciated if u put a note somewhere visible giving the status of the story, even if is just a 'discontinued' next to the table of contents.

my email is pink.raine@gmail.com. i have a lj account but for the life of me i can't remember the password.
